Kirtan on State
Vasanta Rama Navratri
7 - 9 PM - by donation
In the Vedic tradition, following the first New Moon after each Solstice and Equinox are set aside 9 lunar phases (tithis) - or 108 degrees of separation between Sun and Moon - during which to redirect our hearts, minds, and wills to the Divine Mother, to the fecundity, effulgence, and shakti coursing through all of us as a part of Nature. These are potent times for devotional practice, for cleansing, and for setting intentions for the season of life ahead. The mythological birth, or appearance day, of Lord Rama also falls during the Spring festival, on the ninth phase, or Ram Navami.
Kirtan on State will be back next Friday, 3/24, to celebrate Ma and Rama together, with kirtan shares from several friends, as well as two special lengthier chants: the Mahishasura Mardini Stotram & Prema Mudita. Please join us for an evening of devotional chanting in divine community.

Bio:
A soulful, beautiful transmission of the Divine...Mystical Kirtan with Mirabai Moon offers a passionate embrace of the Divine Essence right here, right now... in your embodied human form, just as you are.
Singer/songwriter Mirabai Moon's immensely versatile and powerfully expressive voice is most frequently compared to that of folk icons Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell, and Ani DiFranco. Her music takes listeners on a journey, flowing effortlessly from ethereal dreaminess to soulful blues and jazz.
She honed her craft studying vocal improvisation with jazz legend Bobby McFerrin and Rhiannon of Voicestra. After nearly two decades of songwriting and three original albums, she fell in love with the practice of Kirtan. In 2010, Mirabai devoted herself as a Bhakta, singing sacred chants in Sanskrit, sharing her love of the Divine with others through call and response devotional chanting.
Mirabai's life changing experiences with kirtan and mantra practice led her to explore other sound healing modalities. She now uses crystal singing bowls, chimes and other vibratory instruments with groups and individual clients for healing and transformation work. Mirabai tours across North America and internationally, sharing chant music and sound healing in yoga studios, healing centers, and festivals. Her offerings guide participants into experiences of profound healing and unconditional love through Bhakti Yoga practices.

Trauma Release Workshop with Kyra
This Workshop Will Guide You Through...
-Integrate full body presence
-Reclaim lost parts of yourself
-Heal and tune into your relationship with your body
-Restore your nervous system
Our bodies carry immense intelligence and wisdom, it can be common to drift away from this intelligence when we experience Trauma or different conditions & patterns growing up. Trauma can dysregulate your nervous system, shut down the connection to your body and can bring you into living life from the neck up. This is what can cause us to feel stagnant or a victim of our past, the body holds on to the trauma or patterns that we experience. In this class we will activate a tremor response that allows you to release tension and stored trauma from the body. Tremoring is a very primal healing response, similar to when an animal instantly shakes after being scared. You may have experienced this shaking before through nervousness before a big speech, after a car accident, or anything sudden or traumatic. Because of societal norms we repress this shaking for fear of being seen as weak or vulnerable. When we repress this shaking, the adrenaline built up in the body has nowhere to be discharged. This can cause us to hold muscular tension in the body, keep us in a prolonged state of fight or flight, or make us feel caught in a cycle of the trauma we've experienced. In this session we'll access this response in a subtle way through gentle movement and yoga. You are in complete control of this process and we will move at your own pace. We will combine tremoring with Yoga, Sound Healing and Reiki. This class will provide you with the tools to allow you to operate from a grounded state, connect deeply with others, & move through emotions with ease without feeling stuck in them.
from 6-7:30 pm

Offering Kalavahana
& Siri Joti Puja
With great pleasure we announce that Yoga on State will have the honor and blessing to host Venu Syama, “Amma”, on Sunday, September 4th. Amma will offer individual 30 min. Kalavahana healing sessions, from 10am - 2:30pm, and will facilitate a Siri Joti puja beginning at 3pm.
Kalavahana (Shakti path) is a ritual from the ancient wisdom of Srividya. The ritual helps in removing bodily afflictions, and transforming mental, social, and spiritual status. Kalavahana invokes enough cosmic energy for activating and balancing power centers in the body (chakras). This healing and empowerment balances and harmonizes the body, the mind, and the emotions, leaving participants feeling clear and at peace. To schedule an appt. contact Raviena at 626-780-0000
Siri Joti means “Wealth of Light”. Wherever this community ritual is performed, wealth, health, and abundance come in. Healing energy is amplified during this ceremony, benefitting the participants, their families, the land/space, and the surrounding community. Together we will create a visual manifestation of the Goddess in the form of a Sri Yantra, which will be worshiped with flowers and mantra.
To learn more about Amma, her lineage, and the Srividya tradition, visit www.kam-usa.org
